St Kew & Upton Cross join the Trust

1st May 2017

Members and Directors are delighted to welcome both St Kew and Upton Cross schools who formally joined the Trust on 1 May 2017.

The schools will now be known as St Kew ACE Academy and Upton Cross ACE Academy.

Executive Principal, Mrs Jennie Walker, said “I am delighted that St Kew and Upton Cross have joined ACE MAT. Over the last few months I have had the opportunity to visit both schools and meet both staff and pupils. They are both excellent academies and I very much welcome the fact that they are now part of the ACE team.”

Miss Emily Goodey has been formally appointed as Head of School at Upton Cross. She said “This is a very exciting time for the school which continues to be a popular choice with parents in both the village and the wider community. We have a thriving early years provision with our Little Minions setting and most of these children then continue at Upton Cross."

Mrs Rachel Murray has been formally appointed as Head of School at St Kew. She said of the transition “We have a wonderful community school here at St Kew and I believe that joining ACE Multi Academy Trust will provide us with the support and expertise to take us from our current OFSTED ‘Good’ category towards ‘Outstanding’.

Upton Cross was formerly in a primary school federation with St Kew Community Primary School.

Chair of Governors, Chris Boarland said “Our choice of ACE as our preferred partner came after a long process of testing the market for the right fit. We consulted with parents, carers, staff and pupils at the school before making our final decision.”
